Weather

The best time to go to Pune is from September to June. The Winters are fairly cool and the monsoons have heavy rains, though visits to nearby Lonavala and Khandala are best during this season.

Getting around

Metered Auto-rickshaws and taxis are available to hire. Remember to pay the auto-rickshaws by the metre card. Municipal transport buses ply within the city and suburbs on scheduled routes.

Tours

MTDC offers a four hour conducted tour of the important tourist attractions in Pune. Tickets can be booked at the MTDC offices or the counter at the railway station. Tours leave daily at 8.00 am and 3.00 pm.

Changing Money

The best place to change money by far is Thomas Cook, Thakkar House, off East St (between East St and M G road). It is open during normal business hours and on Saturday morning until 12.30 pm.
